I am not kidding you, this spicy General Tso’s chicken not only has a little kick (it is called “spicy”, after all) but the underlying flavor…oooh. You’re going to want to make a double batch just so you can have leftovers the next day.

What You Need to Make Spicy General Tso’s Chicken

If you’re a little worried about the idea of making this spicy General Tso’s chicken on your own, don’t worry. It seriously simple. Just toss your ingredients together and stir. Check it out.

Here’s what you need:

  • 2 chicken breast, skinned and cubed
  • 1 tbsp red chili sauce
  • 3 tbsp rice wine vinegar
  • 3 tbsp soy sauce
  • 3 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1 tsp minced garlic
  • 1 cup sliced bell pepper
  • 1/2 cup sliced mushrooms
  • 1/2 cup sliced onion

How to Make Spicy General Tso’s Chicken

Step 1

Coat the bottom of your pan in the sesame oil then place the pan over high heat. When the oil is hot, add the chicken and turn the heat down to medium. Immediately add the brown sugar while the chicken starts to sauté.

Step 2

Add the corn starch and stir.

Step 3

Add the rice wine vinegar, soy sauce and garlic, then stir to combine again.

Step 4

Top with the chili sauce and veggies, then stir periodically for 10 minutes or until the chicken is cooked through.
