Not gonna lie, there’s nothing better than coming home from a long day at work and the smell of this amazing slow cooker General Tso’s chicken greeting me at the door.

And, if I’m smart, I have my steamed rice made the night before–and then I literally just have to get the kids to the table!

What You Need to Make Slow Cooker General Tso’s Chicken

Making slow cooker General Tso’s chicken is so simple, it’s literally a “dump and go” recipe–just stir once. And yeah, you have to slice your veggies and cut up the chicken, but that’s all it really takes! Seriously–check it out.

Here’s what you need:

  • 2 chicken breast, skinned and cubed
  • 1 tbsp red chili sauce
  • 3 tbsp rice wine vinegar
  • 3 tbsp soy sauce
  • 3 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1 tsp minced garlic
  • 1 cup sliced bell pepper
  • 1/2 cup sliced mushrooms
  • 1/2 cup sliced onion
  • 1 cup water

How to Make Slow Cooker General Tso’s Chicken

Step 1

Coat the bottom of your slow cooker in the sesame oil then add the chicken and brown sugar.

Step 2

Add the corn starch and stir.

Step 3

Add the rice wine vinegar, soy sauce and garlic, then stir to combine again.

Step 4

Top with the water, chili sauce and the vegetables, then close the lid on your slow cooker. Set it to cook for 4 hours on high or 6 hours on low.
